The  Bluray DVD player is compatible with most Blu Ray, DVD and CD discs available in the market. DVD, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, (S)VCD, and CD – all of them can play on the DVD player. DVD+/-R is a shorthand term for a DVD drive that can accept both of the common recordable DVD formats.

Blu-ray’s high definition (HD) picture is often referred to as ‘1080p’. This means that it’s made up of 1,080 horizontal lines, compared with just 576 on a standard-definition DVD. The extra resolution makes Blu-ray look sharper, more detailed, and more realistic. Therefore, you’d expect the Blu-ray version of a film to be shown in a much higher quality – up to four times that of the DVD.
